The RCDD is BICSI's most recognized credential and is functionally a requirement for designing commercial structured cabling systems in the US. RCDD holders demonstrate mastery of the TDMM (Telecommunications Distribution Methods Manual), the body of work that defines best-practice commercial cabling. Many bid specifications require an RCDD on staff or on the project; some specs require the RCDD to stamp the cabling design.

Prerequisites
5+ years of documented ICT experience (varies; check current BICSI rules).
Exam format
Multi-hour, multiple-choice + scenario exam at a Pearson VUE test center.

3-year renewal cycle. Maintain via continuing-education credits earned through BICSI conferences, courses, or related industry events.
