Common pitfalls

Mistakes we see installers make when navigating Vermont licensing.

  • Vermont Type S subcategories (S, SF, SR, etc.) are NOT cumulative. Doing fire alarm and general low-voltage requires both S and SF.
  • Triennial renewal cycle - easy to lapse if you're used to annual cadence.
  • Burlington and other municipalities have local permit requirements layered on the state license.
