OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety
Issued by OSHA (US Department of Labor)
The OSHA 10-hour construction safety training is the entry-level construction safety credential. Delivered through OSHA-authorized trainers in 10 hours of instruction, the program covers fall protection, electrical safety, struck-by hazards, caught-in / between hazards, and personal protective equipment. The course concludes with a wallet card showing completion date.
Who needs this
All construction-site workers. OSHA 10 is often the contractual minimum for entering a job site; OSHA 30 is the supervisor-level equivalent.
Exam format
Classroom or online instruction; no formal exam beyond participation and knowledge checks.
Renewal
OSHA does not require renewal; many GCs require recurring training every 3-5 years as a contract condition.
